FirmLight — Guided Scripture Journaling
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the FirmLight mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App") operated by FirmLight ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Use of the App
FirmLight provides tools for journaling, prayer tracking, spiritual reflection, Scripture reflections and related features. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You agree to use the App in compliance with applicable laws and not to misuse or interfere with the service.
You may not use or attempt to use our Services to generate harmful content. Such content includes material that may lead to serious harm to yourself or others, content relating to unethical behavior, or content that may spread misinformation.
You may not use or attempt to use our Services to generate hateful or discriminatory content, sexually explicit content, descriptions of graphic violence, or other types of shocking material.
You may not attempt to engage with our Services in an effort to disable, disrupt, or otherwise subvert the security of our Services. This includes attempts to bypass or disable any content moderation and safety measures implemented within our Services.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
User Content
The App allows you to create and store content such as journal entries, prayers, reflections, notes, and other information ("User Content").
You retain ownership of your User Content. You are responsible for the content you create or upload within the App. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate.
AI-Generated Reflections and Guidance
Some features of the App may generate reflections, insights, guidance, or suggested steps automatically using trained systems. While highly trained for this use case, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, misinterpretations, or responses that may not apply to your specific circumstances.
Any suggested steps, actions, or practices provided by the App are optional and intended for personal reflection only. These suggestions are general in nature and may not be appropriate for your specific situation. You are solely responsible for deciding whether to follow any suggested steps.
The App does not provide instructions, directives, or recommendations that should be followed without your independent judgment. All content is provided as general guidance for reflection purposes only.
You acknowledge that AI-generated content should not be relied upon as factual, authoritative, or professional guidance and should exercise your own independent judgment and discretion when interpreting or acting on any content.
You assume full responsibility for any actions you take based on content provided by the App.
No Professional Advice
The App does not provide medical, legal, financial, psychological, mental health, counseling, or pastoral counseling services.
Content within the App, including automated reflections, insights, guidance, or suggested steps, is provided for informational and reflective purposes only.
You should not use the App as a substitute for professional advice or in situations requiring immediate or critical decision-making.
If you are experiencing serious emotional distress, mental health concerns, or crisis situations, you should seek help from qualified professionals or appropriate support services.
The App is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental health condition.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FirmLight and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to:
- Use of the App
- Reliance on reflections, guidance, suggested steps, or generated content
- Misinterpretation of content
- User decisions or actions taken based on content from the App
- Loss of data or service interruptions
Your use of the App is at your own discretion and risk.
Availability and Service Changes
We strive to keep the App available and functioning properly. However, we do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the App at any time without prior notice.
Subscriptions
Some features of the App may require a paid subscription.
Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store.
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
You may manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings.
Free Trials
If a free trial is offered, you may cancel your subscription before the trial period ends to avoid being charged.
If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your Apple ID account will be charged according to the subscription plan selected.
Data and Content Storage
User Content may be stored using cloud infrastructure. We take reasonable measures to protect stored data, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or exploit the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure
- Use the App for unlawful purposes
- Upload harmful or abusive content
Violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of access to the App.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if these Terms are violated or if misuse of the App occurs.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
FirmLight makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the App or any generated content.
FirmLight makes no warranty that (A) the services will meet your requirements; (B) the services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (C) the results that may be obtained from the use of the services will be accurate or reliable; or (D) the quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you through the services will meet your expectations.
